With so much neglect and violence right in our own back yard in Central PA, it is important to remember what WE can do as citizens to help the fight against animal neglect, and cruelty. While there will unfortunately always be those cases that pop up, perhaps as a community, if we all come together, we can help make a difference!
One of the most important first steps we can do is to help get the stray dogs and cats roaming the streets spayed and neutered to reduce the vast number of homeless animals in our areas. Fortunately, there are several rescues in our area that work very hard each and every day to do everything they can for these lost, homeless, and sometimes unwanted souls. They take them in, give them love, have them treated by a veterinarian, get them medicines if they’re sick, have them spayed or neutered, and work to get them adopted into warm, loving, forever homes. These rescues couldn’t do it without their unsung heroes – the volunteers and fosters – who give their time and energy to help make a difference, and also not without the communities help from all the donations!
Please check out our Resources Page on our website for a list of and links to some of the local rescues we work with here at Good Hope Animal Hospital to find out a little more about them, and to see how you can help. There are a large variety of fun and exciting fund raisers that you can participate in for the rescues…be sure to help them out and lend a paw if you can! Our furry friends thank you!
